Who better to kick off Jacksonville’s celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America than the esteemed Benjamin Franklin? Join us and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida (NSCDA-FL) for a wonderful program by Franklin re-enactor B.J. Pryor.
When people are asked “Which of the Founding Fathers would you most like to meet?” most of them answer Benjamin Franklin. He was a scientist and inventor, writer and philosopher, statesman and diplomat, and he knew how to tell a joke. He was the most famous American of his time. Few did more, knew more, or traveled to more places. Franklin signed the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Paris, AND the United States Constitution. He was the only person to sign all three. Come hear him share his wisdom and experience.
Mr. Pryor has been portraying Franklin and other 18th-century notables for over 40 years.
Generously sponsored by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida, the evening begins with a social at 5:30 p.m. Program begins promptly at 6 p.m. and includes a 45-minute presentation, followed by 15-minute Q&A. Please note that the event venue is the Jacksonville History Center, located at 318 Palmetto Street (behind the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena).
