From Casket Factory to History Center
How do you convert a 13,500-square-foot factory building into an immersive and exciting museum about Jacksonville’s rich history? Join us on Thursday, November 6 at the Haskell Building of the Jacksonville History Center to hear the story that began seven years ago with a vision, a campaign, and strong community support.
All are welcome to attend beginning with social time at 5:30 p.m. The program will follow a very brief members meeting to ratify new appointments to the Jacksonville History Center Board of Directors. Dr. Alan Bliss, CEO, will present the history of the Florida Casket Company building, its recent renovation and the plans for a Jacksonville history museum, event venue, and archive of Jacksonville history. Guests may also tour the building.
